AWESOME spotting. Seriously scary though!! Did you know it was a Black Mamba when you were taking the photo or did you find out when you got home?? (That's happened to me and my husband before... not a Black Mamba or anything, but a snake slithered over his foot in the dark and we turned on the torch and got some pics of it... it wasn't a species he recognised which is highly unusual, but when we did the research we discovered it was dangerously venomous. Whew...)

Hi there. It might be a Peaceful Dove (scientific name is Geopelia striata) but I'm not absolutely certain. Have a look at this website http://www.birdsinbackyards.net/species/... and maybe Google some pictures of Peaceful Doves and see if you think it's the right one. : )
