Thanks Argy, yes that was photographed in my backyard. We have several that show up each summer and fall.
Thank you for the ID correction
LOL, I guess that "B" is important. Thanks
I've thought about this snake often since that day and wondered the same thing, if she was successful. All I know for sure is she had over half of the fish down when she dove under water and disappeared from sight. Another snake kept pestering her and she finally got tired of it and left.
They are amazing aren't they? Did you see the series I posted on here o0f the watersnake eating the large bulhead catfish? That fish was 12 inches long or more and the snake managed to get over half of the fish down before diving under the water when another snake tried to take it away
Thanks everyone....I love these types of shots too. I always get so excited when I come across something like this, and I send up silent prayers that they "DON'T MOVE!" before I can get the camera ready and take the pictures LOL
That is a juvenile male 5-lined skink
Thanks Neil, glad you are enjoying the pictures. Herping is one of my favorite things to do, this extreme heat and drought is torture for me as finding snakes is all but impossible right now.
Sangelyka----for the past three years we've had a pair of foxes have young one on our farm. They have them under an implement shed not too far from the house. I simply hide behind some nearby bushes and remain still. After awhile they get used to my presence and don't seem to mind I am there. I can usually get about 20 feet or so from them without any trouble. I use a Canon Rebel T2i and a 300mm zoom to get these images.
