We always called these skeeter eaters, but my husbands family calls them mosquitos - who knows?

This is just a normal house fly. You were luck enough to catch it as it was emerging from its pupa. I agree it looks pretty weird however!

Could be a vertebrae of a sheep or goat. The growth could be a sign of cancer or calcification. I'd take it to a local university for identification. Call for an appointment first .
