The pine warbler looks like a good fit... same head shape and beak/head ratio.

Hmmm... I can sorta see the dark wingbands, but the head doesn't look finch like. I also wouldn't expect a goldfinch to be that color now. Of course, I'm not familiar with plumage changes in the south.

That's not a goldfinch... Looks like some sort of warbler.

Nice picture if the eggs! That looks like a much better nesting site than my photo. My guess would probably be a sick bird, especially seeing that I could get so close.

I think it may have been nesting. The pic is from May... not sure why the date is incorrect.
