A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
I survey for bats and catch big browns quite frequently. From this photo I can distinguish this as a big brown instead of a little brown by its long shiny hair and size. I would without a doubt call this a big brown, Eptesicus fuscus. The most common species found in homes in the Eastern US.
I am a bat surveyor. This looks like a Perimyotis subflavus to me. Tri-colored bat, formerly Eastern Pipistrelle.
I'm a bat surveyor myself. Wear some gloves, prevent White Nose on my favorite endangered bat! Good pics!
Endangered species surveys. We look for Myotis sodalis, the Indiana bat.
