This one was dead, no chance of biting. Unless there are zombie-wetas :/
I believe they recently found one that was 7 inches long. From a different weta species to this one, but it's the biggest insect ever seen apparently (not including fossils)
No more than 6cm for the main body, just a little 'un
There seem to be quite a lot of Astragalus subspecies out there and I can't tell for sure if this is var. whineyi or var. siskiyouenis, but given that it's very close to Siskiyou County I'm happy to go with that. Thats for the ID Kristal

I can see the similarity, but horny toads are a different animal. Convergent evolution perhaps?
