This wood pecker had a feeding ritual that i had never see before, he spent a great deal of time flipping leaves tossing them around. I tried to catch him with one in his mouth.

This is my first nature video, it show how protective the male is over his mate. At the end of the i give reference to the proximity of people and buildings.

I totally understand where they get inspiration for space invading bug movies. This subject stayed in one place for thirty shots or so. It gave me a lot of time to work on color contrast. The grasshopper was buried in a pot of poppies. Pretty sure he thought i could not see him.

I would never recommend going after these bugs with your camera. I had to back off a couple of times. Honey bees are a little nicer. I witnessed a yellow jacket kill a honey close to this flower.
