Sign In to followIt's not terribly uncommon, but it was shocking how many malformations we found in frogs and turtles near the MO river. Malformations do happen naturally, but the high rate of malformed animals we saw was concerning to me.
Thanks everyone. It did blend right in, but not looking like a cottonmouth!
Oh wow! Very cool! Haven't heard about this so much in Green frogs as in Bullfrogs. By the way, your pics are great and I'd also love to get paid to do what you're doing!
Oh sorry, I meant a combo of structural blue and yellow pigment... not yellow and pigment, that's kinda confusing!
Yea! Rarely bullfrogs are found with a mutation caused by the lack of yellow pigment. The typical green color is a combination of a structural blue and a yellow and pigment. I've always wanted to run into one of these. Seen lots of pics of them in books, but never in person. Cool spot :)
Wow, that's a great story and an amazing animal. You are an incredible person... I see BIG things for your future and the future of our planet! You never cease to amaze me :)
Amazing. LOVE that second photo. Great find and shots!
Awh, it looks really young. So glad to hear that you relocated this amazing animal instead of killing it, as most others would have. Great deed and spotting! :)
