If you didn't see the mother at all, something may have happened to her. If you believe the other baby is still alive somewhere, maybe call DNR and see what they can do?

We always called them pill bugs or roly-polys when we were kids, hehe. Lovely photo.

Thanks @Goody! I'm thinking that the frogs in the other pond are green frogs because they do have that line. And @Maria, it's in a jar because it climbed in it! Lol, it's a super friendly little thing. Showing our daughter who's been having nightmares about "Mr. Hoppy" and letting her sister put him back in the pond have stopped the night terrors, thankfully. :D

I looked up garden slug, which is what I've always heard them called but I don't know what the little ones are supposed to look like!

Also, I uploaded this spotting through the phone app. Only problems I'm having with it is that I can't grab a photo from my gallery without it crashing and I put this in Invertebrate and it was placed in Arthropod. Argh.

I was also thinking horse fly, but didn't want to sound bad if that isn't a common name for them in other places. XD Wasn't for sure if that was a nickname or not.
