Attacus atlas
this giant moth was lying two eggs before it died
@ Leuba, yes this is a life, but soon it would die after lying some eggs. I made observation toward these eggs. because I curious. actually I brought the cocoon home and made observation, and I found that the cocoon would emerge in longer time in dry season than in wet (rainy season). Having emerged this moth was not wandering to get nectar, but directly mating, this happen for several days, then the female would lay some eggs and die. comparred with my first spotting, this moth color was fadded.
@ Ann....thanks for reminding, it because we (Indonesian) call butterfly for both moth and butterfly.
This looks like it could be a moth rather than a butterfly. Probably an Atlas Moth (Attacus atlas).
