Bengal Tiger

Panthera tigris tigris

Habitat:

This is caged inside Jawaharlal Nehru Biological Park in Bokaro Steel City.

Notes:

I remember around 10 years back the Tigers used to be very healthy and their number was ~10. But now hardly 3/4 can be spotted and all are very weak and in bad condition. This particular was not able to walk properly due to some injury in one leg :(

@Emma indeed it is sad :(
Here in India we have largest number of tigers and there is so much funding available for saving them. On one hand we have great National Tiger Reserves where they get real Home on the other hand we have these poorly maintained zoo cages where they are completely neglected !!

sad indeed ,Manish.

Hi Manish, this animal appears to be captive and if so we would ask you to state this in the habitat or notes section along with details of the establishment where it is being kept. Thank you.
