Red Deadnettle

Lamium purpureum

Description:

Flowers are red to purple. It grows to 5–20 cm in height. The leaves have fine hairs, are green at the bottom and purplish at the top; they are 2–4 cm long and broad, with a 1–2 cm long stalk.

Habitat:

meadows or along roadsides.

Notes:

The top of young plants are edible.

Cool photos, Meik! I have been seeing a lot of these pop up around my house too, I should get some snaps as they're quite beautiful little flowers! Nice series :)
