Florida Banded Watersnake

nerodia fasciata pictiventris

Description:

Today in the slough, I saw these snakes by the dozen! Very active, must be mating season for this species.

Habitat:

wetland

Notes:

Saw many of these snakes today, at least 20 or 30! They were everywhere, moving about constantly and quickly. Most likely mating season for this species. I am no snake expert by any means, mating season is just my best geuss.

As usual, Thank you Janson. I will edit spotting shortly. This snake was highly numerous and active, very interesting. I spent 7 hours in the Cypress slough today, took about 600 photos. All sorts of good stuff, stay tuned...:)
