Pelecanus Occidentalis
A pelican, broad beak, that has brown feathers around its bottom half. It has white feathers around its head and webbed feet. Its beak is round in the bottom so its easier to catch fish. Anchovies are the major supply of food for the pelicans.
It lives in wet coastal climates, mostly for fish and amphibian meals. They have webbed feet for swimming on the sea. They are mostly found in the Atlantic Coast and secondarily in the Pacific Coast. This picture was taking in La Jolla, California, United States.
This is a very common species of bird on the coast.
