Description:

Hairy everygreen shrub. Leaves oblong, grey-green above and whitish below. Flower purple and 22-25mm long; borne in whorls, April-June.

Habitat:

Favours stony and rocky ground, often among scrub. Confined to South Iberian Peninsula.

Notes:

Also called Jerusalem Sage. Phlomis purpurea is specific to Portugal and Spain.
