For the record, I did put this one back where I found it so the spores could do their thang.

I felt guilty the first time I did but then realized that it will disappear within a couple days anyway and I don't know of an animal that relies on it for a food source.

How else can you identify it without taking a spore print and looking at the gills at least once? I guess I feel a bit guilty- someone commented on my facebook that I shouldn't do this.

Oh no! I didn't know that. Gosh I've learned to pull one up to help ID it since I joined PN. I need to take that class! :)
