Eurasian Nuthatch

Sitta europaea

Description:

The Eurasian Nuthatch is 14 cm long and has the typical nuthatch big head, short tail and powerful bill and feet. It is blue-grey above, with a black eyestripe.

Habitat:

temperate Europe and Asia

Notes:

I spotted a lot of these Nuthatches in Foping Nature Reserve. They moved fast up and down the trunks of trees eating something, but I'm not sure what. I caught this one with some kind of seed or nut in its mouth.
