Small toad

Description:

Brown with tiny black dots all over it. It's a very light color under it's belly.

Habitat:

Living in woods with lot's of moss.

Notes:

We found lot's of them! It was really small. They were very active!

I'm not sure if it applies to immature toads, but an unspotted belly usually means that it's probably a Fowler's Toad: http://www.enature.com/fieldguides/detai.... Since there are only two species of toad in Maine (the other is the American Toad with a spotted belly) there's a 50/50 chance of this ID being correct!
