Ranunculus recurvatus
Perennial, 24 in. tall with hairy stems. Leaves mostly basal and lower stem, 3-5 in. long, deeply 3-cleft, segments broad and toothed with stiff hairs above and below. Flowers light yellow, 5 petals, 0.25 in. long, petals shorter than sepals. Blooms April-June.
Rich, moist woods across eastern USA.
