Smilacina racemosa

Description:

Perennial herb, 16-36 in. tall, with unbranched, erect, arching stems. Leaves alternate in 2 rows, sessile, elliptic, 3-6 in. long, finely hairly beneath, prominent parallel veins. Flowers are white, 0.1-0.2 in. wide, numerous flowers in a dense terminal panicle 2-6 in.c long. Blooms March-June.

Habitat:

Moist, deciduous woods thoughout USA and southern Canada.
