Rose-ringed Parakeet

Psittacula krameri

Description:

Feral populations of that parakeet occur in South Africa. This is the only parakeet in Africa. Green parakeet with extremely long pointed tail, short red bill. The adult male shows a black ring around the neck.

Habitat:

Suburban area. That couple was nesting in the tree just in front of my office.

Notes:

Also called Ring-necked Parakeet.
