Stellaria holostea
A common wildflower in the UK, the greater stitchwort flowers from April to June. The white flowers have 5 deeply notched petals, and prominent anthers. The plants themselves can grow quite high, about 60cm. The name stitchwort originates from the medicinal use of this plant, where infusions of the leaves were used to treat side stitches.
Usually found in woodland, grassy verges, hedges and roadsides. I found this just on the edge of a wooded area.
Came across this while on the Wivenhoe Trail.
