Description:

A large butterfly found in the tropics of Central and South America. This genus feeds on Musa sp. (Bananas) and is a commercially disliked pest to banana crops. Unlike most adult butterflies, this species feeds on rotting fruit, dung, tree sap, and rotting flesh.

Habitat:

Wooded semi-rural habitat.
