Description:

Medium sized, black bird with long slim neck. Possibly some sort of egret or heron.

Habitat:

These are often seen along creeks, rivers, & lakes in north eastern part of Texas.

Cannot see the bill, but the body and neck are similar to Cormorants. Do they have a large wing span and like to stretch their wings out and flap? That is what Cormorants do and there are several species here in Texas.
