Canada Goose

Branta canadensis

Description:

Canada Goose

Habitat:

Sugar Hollow Park wetlands area. Swamp with small stream, woodlands and fields nearby.

Notes:

These are the only 2 geese in this park. Several others inhabit a lake approx. 6 miles from this location. The male is often seen guarding the area near the female's nesting spot. They have become very accustomed to me and have never shown any aggresion towards me. They have allowed me to get within 6 feet of thier nest and with any luck I'll be posting photos of gosling soon.

Thanks, I try to get as interesting shots as possible. Luck was with me as this female allowed me to get very close to her nesting sight.
