Tumbling Flower Beetle

Family: Mordellidae

Description:

This little pintail beetle was about 6 mm long with a pointy abdomen. The elytra showed pale gold markings.

Habitat:

Spotted on tea-tree in a park by a walking track.

Notes:

These are also called pintail beetles. They perform a tumbling movement, which is a series of small jumps , when trying to escape predation or when disutrbed. The pintail assists with the tumbling.
I need to investigate further to drill down to the genus.
Family: Mordellidae
