Pawpaw

Asimina triloba

Description:

A tree growing in a suburban yard. I had thought pawpaws only grew in tropical areas so it was interesting to learn that there is a North American pawpaw. It has the largest edible fruit that is indigenous to North America.

Habitat:

suburban yard next to wooded area

Glad you found it interesting, Leuba. At first, I thought maybe someone had imported a tree and it had managed to grow here and then I found out there is a North American native.

Very interesting Maria. I only know of the tropical pawpaw but there is an American native and it is edible ! Thanks for bringing this to us - I've learnt something new.
