Carib Grackle

Quiscalus lugubris

Description:

A gorgeous shiny black/blue with a violet iridescence bird. Its eyes are yellow, and it has a strong dark bill. About 27 cm long with a long wedge-shaped tail. When flying the tail looks like a rudder instead of a tail!

Habitat:

All over the streets of Port of Spain, Trinidad. This one was pictured in the botanical garden, out on the edge of Port of Spain, near the mountain.

Notes:

I have been looking at these gorgeous birds all the time. Love love the tail!
