thanks for the comments. i understand your views but feel that an image of a mouse living in an isolated part of the world can be of value to those with an interest. the mice on Rum are unusually large and are protected as part of the islands many conservation designations. obviously i would have preffered the mouse to have been in its prime but alas, its time had come.

Hi Philip, I'm inclined to agree with BFF here. We do prefer to see live wildlife alive but as this unfortunate wood mouse appears to have died of natural causes & is in its natural environment I will leave it up to you whether you wish to leave this or delete the spotting.

I understand things die, however, is it necessary to put a photo of a dead mouse on this site. I have encountered several dead animals on my hikes and journeys yet I feel it is best to leave them alone and instead photograph the living creatures. Just a difference of opinion I suppose, but I feel it is better to promote nature by showing it in its glory and not at its end.
