Description:

About 8 mm in lenght, greenish-gray in colour, orange eyes with a black band, yellow legs.

Habitat:

Spotted during a day walk at KL Forest Eco Park, Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia, an urban park located at the middle of the city. Can also be found in Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, China, Russia and Singapore.

Notes:

These minute insects, colloquially known as hoppers, are plant feeders that suck plant sap from grass, shrubs or trees. Their hind legs are modified for jumping, and are covered with hairs that facilitate the spreading of a secretion over the body that acts as a water repellent and carrier of pheromones.
