Description:

Pale green caterpillar with enlarged thorny head, narrow neck, and spiny processes extending from the rear of the body.

Habitat:

Hackberry, Celtis ssp., trees. This one had fallen and was on a chair below.

I love seeing these pics. Hackberry Emporers are fairly common around here, but I have never seen the caterpillars. My mom has several Hackberry trees in her yard and I'm sure they are typically infested with caterpillars. I'm gonna have to do some searching to see if I can find them.
