Goat

Capra aegagrus hircus

Description:

It appears that in Iberia herds of goats and sheep still have rights to graze just about anywhere their shepherds take them and it is not uncommon to be held up on country roads for a considerable time while huge flocks wander past. They are worth scrutinising because they are often accompanied by a number of bird species feeding on the insects they disturb. Cattle Egrets are noticeable but the smaller Starts, Chats, Wagtails and others can be easily overlooked.

Habitat:

Fields adjacent to tidal wetlands
