A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Stenopelmatus sp.
Brown Orthoptera with black and white striped abdomen. Last image is of it completely uncovered. I can't tell if there are eggs or not.
This one was in a burrow under a leaf and bark in an Oak forest.
"Most of their lives are spent underground. Damp, sandy soil is preferred. Although it is not aggressive and has no venom, will bite if molested. The powerful jaws usually used when burrowing through the earth and feeding on roots. Keep a respectful distance." - Wikipedia

Quite a beauty.
