Lonchura punctulata
About 10cm long with reddish head and scale like pattern on the body. These birds used to be caught for the illegal pet trade. Mainly eats wild grass seeds and also considered as a minor pest by farmers because they sometimes raids fields for grains. A social bird which like to forage as a group, sometimes consisting more than 100 individuals.
Near grass lands and paddy fields.
