Rosy Double-bristled Hawkmoth

Meganoton rubescens philippinensis

Description:

Sphingidae; Sphinginae; Sphingini; Meganoton rubescens philippinensis Clark, 1938. This is the subspecies present in the Philippines, as its name makes clear.

Habitat:

This hawkmoth was spotted on the wall of our dog kennel, shortly before 9:00 p.m. I think it probably came in through the metal grill from the backyard.
