I have always seen this spikes in some leaves, especially in leaves of the avocado tree. Not idea of what it is. I put it under plants but I´m shure it is somthing else. In the second pic the spikes are in an green leave. http://urbanext.illinois.edu/stateline/0...
Now thanks to martinl I know "Most galls are produced by specialized hemipterans (sucking bugs) that irritate the tissue to stimulate this extra growth.
