Description:

Cute 3 1/2 inch female of green, black and white comes to the hummingbird feeder. The only hummingbird in eastern North America.

Habitat:

Hummingbird feeder on deck near woodlands.

So far only the female has come, but this is the first year for the feeder for me. I hope to see many more and get an even clearer photo.

Sometimes, rufous sided hummingbirds come through the eastern U.S., but they aren't common. It will be interesting to see if this changes with climate change.
