Callosamia promethea
4 inch male drying its wings on its cocoon. It was also shaking itself back and forth, possibly when I got too close. See video.
Woodlands of Poconos, PA
such a beautiful moth!
Sergio, Don't you know... I am their MOTH-ER! HA!
Wow! Another beauty Carol!
Tell the truth, Carol, you buy them by the dozens, isn't it?
Great work to add to your collection of wonderful images. You will not be stopped, even if it means getting into thorns. :-)
I found 18 cocoons all over the place. Those are the ones I found. This one was in a small tree in a tangle of thorns. Ouch! But had to get to it. :)
Wow! Another great silk moth spot Carol! Your place is silk moth heaven. I have to get to the Poconos!
