Fritillary Caterpillars

Agraulis vanillae (Gulf) and Euptoieta claudia (Variegated)

Description:

Here are two common species of Fritillary caterpillars feeding side by side. The one with the dark gray stripe is the Gulf Fritillary, and the one with white dashes is a Variegated Fritillary. Seeing them together is a good way to learn the difference. They both use Passionvine as their host plant.
