Asterocampa celtis
This chrysalis is one of several in the area under the Hackberry trees. The green chrysalis mimics the Hackberry leaf with its white veins.
This caterpillar has fallen from the tree and made its chrysalis on the chair below.
The garden is about half an acre of native plants specifically planted for wildlife. The main water source is a pond that is filtered by two gravel streams. It is on a peninsula by Lake Lewisville, TX.
