My brother managed to rescue this poor little thing from the pool early one morning. He noticed a black blob clinging onto the creepy crawley and fished it out. Luckily all this little guy needed was a bit of rest and was very happy to be released back into the bush. You can see from the photos how small this little thing is in relation to my brothers hands.

I think its a shrew of some kind.
Possibly just a house mouse
