Long-bodied Cellar Spider

Pholcus phalangioides

Description:

About 6-7 millimeters in body length, colored as shown. Extremely long, thin legs.

Habitat:

In web across ceiling of basement storage space in apartment building. Damp, musty, dark environment typical of cellar spider haunts.

Notes:

This is an immature individual. Adult spiders were seen, also, but were too close to the substrate to photograph clearly.
