Eastern gray squirrel

Description:

A prolific and adaptable species, the eastern gray squirrel has been introduced to, and thrives in, several regions of the western United States - especially my front yard. This particular one was quite heavy for winter.

Notes:

I had not put out much seed at this point of the year, so the squirrels were digging up my potted plants to get to seeds they buried earlier in the year.
