A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Asclepias curassavica
This milkweed variety is purchased and planted here in Texas. This plant is one of many volunteer seedlings from last years seed dispersal. It will be ready and waiting for the return Monarch migration. Currently the Queens and Resident Monarchs will use it as a host plant.
This is growing with other nectar flowers in the sunny butterfly garden. The whole garden is a half acre planted with native plants specifically for wildlife.
