BobcatLabs, and others, please note that when you upload a very large hi-res image to Project Noah it is automatically reduced in size (and probably quality at the same time) to a maximum dimension of 1200 pixels for display on the site. The original uploaded photograph is held on a separate server. For my own I use Lightroom to crop and lightly edit (mainly contrast adjustment) the raw file then downsize it to 1200 pixels and save as a hi-res jpeg for uploading. You may find doing this improves your visible quality.
My photos are also much better in my own photo editing program than here. But it looks as others don't have that problem... Not that I edit a lot only highlight and stuff like that :)
Thanks for the compliments. The download to Project NOAH didn't do the actual image justice. The original is far more crisp and better colored - plus there was no cropping or color manipulation done post-processing. It was simply a lucky shot among the many others I thought were garbage. It was taken from the deck of the boat while we were headed back to port.
Nice capture :)
wow,,
