Pink Spotted Lady Beetle Larva

Coleomegilla maculata lengi

Description:

Dark brown beetle larva with orange markings. The "eyespots" on the pronotum (first segment behind head) and the orange belt around the 4th abdominal segment are keys for identifying this species as a larva. Adults are pink or red lady beetles with black spots and an elongated, tapered shape.

Habitat:

Urban garden, eating aphids and pollen in daylily patch.
