Eastern Tailed-blue butterflies (mating pair)

Cupido comyntas

Description:

A mating pair of Eastern Tailed-blue butterflies spotted at Huntley Meadows Park. Can anyone identify which butterfly is the male? Female? My guess is the male is on the right side of the photo, based upon the "connection" between the two butterflies (insert Tab A in Slot B).

Habitat:

Huntley Meadows Park, a 1,425 acre wetland area in Fairfax County, Virginia USA. Related Resource: http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/huntl...

Project Noah spotter "Cammie" provided the following comment in response to my question regarding identification of the male/female butterfly: "The female is actually the one on the right; larger and less vibrant in color. Similar to birds!"
