Large dark brown dabbling duck with scaly-pattern plumage on back. Bill is black with yellow, orange spot on the base of bill.. The reddish mark on the base of the bill identifies this as a male.
Outside the Sun temple at Modhera is an elevated patch of land bordered by thick, wild vegetation. Beyond that is a lake. This duck was swimming there. Maxed the 50 X zoom.
