Stibochiona nicea
River (rapid, white water one) bank with lots of forests. Cool place. Altitude: about 1,500m.
This Popinjay was spotted at a river bank where during the previous few days some people had camped. It was feeding on the leftovers.

Thanks Daniele and the team of Noah Rangers for the SOTD. I really appreciate for the encouragement. I was out in the fields far away so seeing the comments only now. I will be posting the exotic spottings very soon!
Thanks Daniele , Sunny and Brian38 for the comments.
Beautiful one Dr...
Congratulations Dr., your beautiful Popinjay is our Spotting of the Day:
"All dressed up in velvety black with touches of white and blue, this dazzling Popinjay (Stibochiona nicea) is our Spotting of the Day! This nymphalid butterfly is found in northeast India, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia and China. There are only two other species in the the genus Stibochiona: S. coresia and S. persephone, both from southeast Asia. The family Nymphalidae is the largest family of butterflies (superfamily Papilionoidea), comprising over 7,000 species distributed to all continents with the exception of Antarctica. Did you know? The word "popinjay" comes from the Middle French word "papegai", which was the original name for a parrot in English".
