Geron sp.
A small delicate fly about 7 mm long with long legs. The thorax looked humped and covered with golden setae ( ? dusting of pollen). The abdomen was also covered with similar setae. Wings were clear and tinted. I could not capture the details of the antennae which might have had feathery tips.
Spotted flying around a Goodenia shrub, landing every now and then for a few seconds on flowers. This was in a nature reserve.
It was difficult to get clearer shots of the very active fly. Thanks to Stephen Thorpe for the ID.
Family: Diptera

Thank you so much Stephen for looking at this and for the ID.
Possibly genus Geron
Looks like a small bee fly to me
Thanks for th efeedback. Will remove ID.
Hema, thanks for the ID suggestion but I don't think this one is a golden dung fly. There are a few anatomical differences (like antennae) and after a brief check I don't believe Scathophaga species occurs here. This one was very delicate and small ( 7 mm ). Will have to check Wood Gnats.
